About Bardag
Bardag Angling Club was formed in 1979 as a section of the Barking and Dagenham Council social club. Originally the club was for council staff only and it was only when we obtained the license for the Club Lake at Eastbrook End in 1980 that the membership was opened up to the others.
The membership was set at 100 at first but went to an all time low when we lost the use of the lake whilst the country park was being landscaped.
Starting up again with the membership in the 40's Bardag set about restocking the lake with mainly Carp. Once this stocking established itself the membership swiftly rose to it's present level of 280 when the books were closed. The club proved very popular with a further 250 plus on the waiting list.
Bardag angling club also has a thriving Match and Outing Scene with many members making use of these facilities. The match teams have been particularly successful over the years.
During the last few years the club has taken over licenses for the Tom Thumb Lake and the Front Lake and Back Lake of The Chase. We have set about stocking these lakes to offer many fishing alternatives to the anglers using them. All of these three lakes are open for day-ticket use.
