Match Results for the January Sunday Outing

Despite the very cold conditions there was a good turnout for the seasons last Sunday outing. The roach and skimmers were in obliging mood with excess of 200lbs being weighed-in. This meant an average of 12lb each for the 17 anglers.

The match was split between 3 banks and soon after the start it became obvious that the "Arm" was the place to be. Les Fidlin caught steadily from the form peg 1 and soon built a good lead. As the day progressed John Gamby and Dave Sims began to mount a challenge but "Fiddle" held firm and finished a worthy winner with 31lbs of silvers. John Gamby finished second with a creditable 22lbs 12ozs with Dave Sims third with 18lbs 9ozs.

In his excitement at drawing one of the "Fliers" Les spoilt his day by slipping over and smashing some sections of his pole which led to several members to ask if that was to give them a chance. (You get no sympathy from this mob).

A mini-match was also fished within the main match with the final of the Sunday Knock-out competition being fished. Andy Barrow beat Terry Robinson to become the Sunday K.O. Champion.
