With an icy wind blowing down the lake promised a hard day was in store for the members who ventured out. Bites were at a premium to start with and a couple of hours passed before some anglers managed a few fish. The wind-ward end of the lake seemed to producing most bites with Martin Armfield, Andy Barrow and Billy Clarke putting a few fish in the net.

The last couple of hours saw Terry Robinson land some decent fish to edge into the lead and hold off Martin in the nearest peg to his. The finishing whistle was greeted with relief by most of the anglers. This winter fishing can be a great test of resolve when the fish are not obliging.
