With the sun beating down it was time to put sun-blocker on before starting.This also meant that the fish were up in the water and with fishery rules restricting feeding up in the water style to 13 metres it was not going to be easy to maximise your catch potential.. Terry Robinson on the Cafe bank was the first into fish putting  nice Bream in the net. Andy Barrow on the narrow bank had blossom and scum drifting into his swim and soon realised that the Carp were feeding beneath this cover.He soon started to put some into his keepnet. Chris Lattimer in permanent peg 5 was catching some lovely bream up in the water on meat and started to put together a decent weight. As the breeze changed direction the cover started to drift out of Andy's peg and Maurice Brown was able to capitilise on this cover. Dave Sims in permanent peg 6(a fish filled snaggy swim) decided that he would have to fish the snags to catch. Despite losing a few whackers to the rushes he managed to put some into the net. Bill Christmas in peg 4 was also catching a few but was unable to draw them close enough. Meanwhile Chris was adding some carp to the bream he was catching and was forging in front on this bank. At the whistle it was going to be close between four or five anglers.

      Starting at permanent peg2 the weights were very moderate until Chris Lattimer tipped 66lbs5ozs into the weigh-sling followed by Dave Sims with 44lbs2ozs. Hopes of a first win by Chris were dashed when Maurice Brown recorded a 70lbs15oz catch.This was followed by Andy Barrow with 59lbs2ozs and Terry Robinsons45lbs10ozs.

      The end of the wigh-in signalled a heavy downpour of rain and most anglers were soaked when they returned to their cars.
